The private sector engineering company is implementing a solar energy project at the Solar Energy and Research Center (CERS) in Tadjoura, Libya, Engineer Al-Mabrouk Saleh of Engineering told the Libya Herald today. The project is funded by the Government of Libya.

The solar project will be connected to the national grid with an output of 62 kilowatts. The solar modules will be designed so that the space underneath can be used as a parking lot, Al Mabrouk explained.

The German Ambassador to Tripoli, Oliver Okza, visited the project site yesterday as a guest of the engineering company. Al-Mabrouk revealed that this project is one of the achievements reached at the Berlin Economic Conference on Libya, which Engineering attended last year.

Among these achievements were the maintenance and completion of power plants in Libya to reduce the country's electrical production deficit of approximately 1,500 megawatts, achieve self-sufficiency in the field of solar energy, and support the private sector. Al-Mabrouk also explained that there are other projects in preparation awaiting funding and approval.
